This design is sometimes referred to be as a beige box. In my next post I will show you how to do this mod, and I will include a parts list for you. I played with the position of the lights a lot, and moved the ones in the top left to the left, and installed blue LED lights in the fan shroud, which was Stephen’s idea. Since I do Xbox 360 RROD Repair it’s easier for me to have all of these extra parts lying around. So if you have all of the tools you need, this mod could cost you less than $15 dollars, but it is going to take a lot of time, patients, and maybe an extra XBox 360 case.
The plexiglas I got from Lowes for less than $2 dollars. If you want to paint your Xbox 360 make sure you get the right paint, something that is suitable for plastic. Your going to need a dremmel, and some sand paper also. They have a ton of colors and sizes, and you can get what fits your budget without waiting for the item to be shipped to you. I got 24 inches of bright blue LEDs for $19.99. I had been looking for bright LED lights for some time, and the pest place to get them besides eBay is Auto Zone. I did all of this in my Colorado Springs Garage, and here is how I did it. I was just going to sell it, put it on eBay or, but I had plenty of left over parts from other machines which included some cases. I reballed the GPU, CPU, Ram chips, and the Hana/ana chips. I did this mod to a non-HDMI Xbox 360 that I had repaired. Don’t worry I have some cleaner pics I’m going to post on this site also. This is what your end product will look like, maybe with different color LED lights. So these mods take a lot of time, but I feel that the second one went a lot faster considering the design. I picked up everything to mod two xbox’s for less than $30 dollars, but after it was all said and done, I had more than eight hours in each Xbox 360. I was talking with one of my friends about cutting a design out of the case, and putting LED lights behind it to make it work. I’ve installed lights, fans, and have performed many Xbox repairs before, but this is the first time I have ever made a mod to the case. The XBox 360 is probably one of the most mod-able devices that I have been able to get my hands on.
